The Fight for Women's Rights
Women previously were fighting for the right to vote. The movement had begun in the late 1800s and was fought until 1920s when the women won. Before the declaration of the equality in voting, women were the property of men. Once a woman was married to the man, the women no longer owns anything. The children were also the property of the husband. The right to vote was a great privilege for the ladies considering that it was one of very few things that a women could control. The 1920s or the Roaring Twenties was a great era for women considering it was seen as a fresh start for them.
