The Classic Suit:
The classic suit showed the sophistication of the mens as well as there fun side. The suits were not only black and white but also many other colors. The suits were mostly made up of wool. For a man's attire, it was mostly a consists of suits. Men of the 1920s mostly wear suits from the morning to the evening. There were many designs and options for the men to choose from but it was always a suit. The classic suit was only made for men, boys would wear different varieties of outfits. Those will be emphasized in the boy section of the children page. But overall, the mens' attire would mostly contain classic suits in any color. |
Panama Hats:
The panama hat is the classic straw hat. The straw hat does not appear as a typical straw hat because it is made out of different material. The panama hat is made out of South American reed wool. The material is hand-woven and then imported from Ecuador. The panama hat is a hat made for both genders and both enjoys it. It falls under the category of a unisex hat.

The Flat Cap:
The flat cap was a popular cap that was wore by every men on the block in the 1920s. The Great Gatsby era, as some referred to the 1920s, was an era that had the flat cap as one its representations of it. Newsboys, cab drivers, fishermen, and many more wore this cap. A fashionable hat that was very appealing back then. The cap had an apperance of not seeming to be tight but more baggy. It is by far the most unique hat of this collection since it shows little similarity when compared to the others. It was mostly seen as a working man's hat since it did origin from a fisherman's hat. |
Bowler/Derby Hats:
The bowler hat was created for riding. The hat had an oval shape and it was mostly a hard material. The purpose for this particular hat was not to be fashionable but rather for protection. It was suppose to protect a man's head while riding through the bushes and branches. By riding, it meant that they were riding a horse. The bowler hats were mostly chosen in black since it was a very appealing color. There were some men that prefer to wear the hat for fashionable purposes and choose to wear the hat in a brown or grey color in order to match there fashionable suits. But during the 'Roaring Twenties' there were daring spirits in this era which made them want to be more bolder. The colors began to expand in range and men would choose blue and green as well.

Straw Boaters/Skimmer Hat:
This particular hat was worn during the hot summers became they were very cooling. During the 1902s, people find that being active was a great hobby. Outdoor sports were a new craze and the straw boater was one that was always worn for the occasion. The hat was indeed hand-woven and appeared very solid. There were multiple colors that could be chosen for the hats. For example, college students would choose their university's colors to wear on their skimmer hats. |
The Fedora:
The fedora was a fashionable popular hat that shows the superiority of the man. The fedora was in olive green, black, brown and gray. The fedora was worn by young men to show their 'swagger' hat style. The men to the left is Al Capone, a famous gangster. The man is an Italian man that created a huge business and showed the government the capabilities he had. Gangsters usually wore the hat as a symbol of there sophistication in 'the business' (drugs,alcohol, etc.). The solid color band on the hat made the hat appear cleaner and sharper. The fedora was a fashion trend that men most appealed to. The fedora had the same design until the 1940s, where the signature feather was added. |
