The 1920s Election:
After WWI had ended, President Wilson went to Europe to discuss the Treat of Versailles. He had peace talks with the heads of the Allies. This included, Great Britain, France and Italy. The purpose of this act was to officially end the war with peace. Aside from Germany still facing the consequences on starting the war. Wilson shared his famous Fourteen Points which involved the involvement of a League of Nations. This organization had the purpose of helping countries around the world avoid another war.

The President to have won the 1920s election was Warren G. Harding. President Warren succeeded in doing the Kellogg-Briand Pact. This meant that war was renounced as a means of national policy. There was also the Dawes Plan that was also a success. It's purpose was to solve the problem of post-war debt. President Harding was President from 1920-1924.

Many Americans had went to isolationism. Isolationism means to pull away from world affair involvement.
Scandals:
President Harding had a problem with understand the many of the issues in the American government. There was not only one or two but several Harding's appointee's which were caught illegally selling government supplies to private companies. The public did not response friendly to these findings.

The government had set aside oil-rich public land in Teapot, WY. The secretary of Interior Albert Fall had given two oil companies some oil. Fall had received $400,000 from the companies but was convicted of committing a felony from the courts.

The next president was President Calvin Coolidge, he was president from 1924-1928. It was said that he had fit the pro-business spirit of the 1920s.
